Big Bad Wolf Book Sale 2018~!!

Assalam and hye everyone~!!

The other day, I joined a contest by Big Bad Wolf Books via Instagram. Surprisingly, I was one of the many winners of the contest. The prize was VIP passes for the most anticipated book sale of the year - Big Bad Wolf Book Sale 2018!

The VIP pass is only valid on VIP Day, which is on 6th December 2018. BBWKL 2018 officially starts from 7th December till 17th December 2018. So, with the VIP pass, I was able to go to the book sale earlier than most other people.

The last time I went to BBW was in 2016. I wrote a post about it (you may read it here). I did not have the opportunity to go the last year's BBW as I had other matters to attend to and was busy for another event.

So, on the said day, I went to BBWKL 2018 at MIECC, The Mines with Hannah and a friend, Z. We went there a bit late in the day and entered the hall at nearly 9.00 p.m. We only had two hours to hunt for books as VIP Day ended at 11.00 p.m. - before BBWKL starts again the next day at 10.00 a.m. non-stop for 24 hours until 17th December 2018.

My obvious aims were getting Harry Potter And The Cursed Child and any crime/thriller books. I was very happy to see a section dedicated to books of the wizarding world (refer to the pics below).

Like always, I would head to the crime/thriller section to pick up my treasure.

I also went to the children's section to find books for Hannah, and my niece and nephew too. Many exercise books were available, so I managed to grab a few for Hannah as she will be in Year 4 next year (how time flies).

There was a cafe for bookhunters to rest and refill their energy - Cafe Wolf.

At the end of the day, we managed to put most of our loot into the trolley bag that we brought along. It is a wise decision to bring a trolley bag or something similar if you're planning to splurge a lot of money on books here. Besides, every plastic bag is charged for 20 sen per bag, so bring your own shopping bag too.

I must say that I regret not going to the RM8 section as more valuable books are placed there, according to what my friend said. Maybe I might go again to BBW, if I have a bit more budget, haha.. If you plan to go to BBW, you can still do so until 17th December 2018. Happy hunting!

[Review] Wiro Sableng: Pendekar Kapak Maut Naga Geni 212

Have you ever heard of KLIPS? It is a Malaysian movie community managed by SAYS.com. You can read about new information regarding the latest movies, trailers, along with frequent giveaways of movie passes and official merchandises. You can check out KLIPS via website, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.

Last month, I started to join in the giveaways held by KLIPS. Lucky for me, I won the premiere screening passes for "Wiro Sableng: Pendekar Kapak Maut Naga Geni 212". It is an Indonesian action comedy, which started showing in cinemas on 27th September 2018.

The premiere screening of the movie was held on 25th September 2018 at GSC 1 Utama. It was my first time ever going to a premiere screening. There were many people queueing up at various counters to claim their free movie passes. There were also famous celebrities and people who came, but  no, I didn't snap selfies with them.

My movie partner was Hannah. At first, I thought that this would be a boring movie. However, Hannah and I (and the rest of the people in the hall) were laughing throughout the movie. Wiro Sableng was a very funny character and loved to make jokes. Yet, he was also serious when it came to fighting with the enemy.

This action comedy showcases the art of silat and displays fantasy-like fictional characters. Overall, the movie is entertaining, funny, and enjoyable. I give it 3.9 ⭐. And I believe there might be a sequel (maybe).

Bon Odori 2017 @ Shah Alam~!!

Well, this blog has been left for quiet a long time, haha.. Sorry for not updating regularly.

On 22nd July 2017, I went to the 41st Bon Odori 2017 at Kompleks Sukan Negara Shah Alam, Seksyen 21 a.k.a Panasonic Sports Complex. The first time I went to Bon Odori was back in 2015 (click here for the blog post). I didn't get a chance to go last year, though.

This year, I went together with Hannah and a friend of mine. It was their first time to Bon Odori.

Hannah played a fishing game and ate okonomiyaki. It tasted just like takoyaki~...

The weather this year was superb, no rain at all! Previously, it usually rained or drizzled during the event, leaving a muddy field. And since it didn't rain this year, there was a fireworks display!

It was great fun! There was such a huge crowd too, as earlier that day, there was an event, Visual Arts Expo, at Shah Alam Convention Centre. Hope to go to Bon Odori again next year~!!! ヾ(´▽｀*;)ゝ”

Big Bad Wolf Book Sale 2016~!!

Well, it seems that I have not updated my blog for over a year, hihi.. Lots of stuff happening in my life, so I've left the blogging world for a (long) while.

So, on 17th December 2016, I went to the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale 2016 at MIECC @ The Mines. Hannah tagged along, it was her first time ever going to a book sale event. For those of you who do not know, Big Bad Wolf (or BBW, in short) is a book sale event held every year, usually in December. Books are on sale up until 95%!

This is an event that I look forward to every year. Besides being held in at the end of the year, BBW also has mini book sale events occasionally, especially the popular "box sale" - where you have to buy a box there and try to put in as many books as you can in the box.

At BBW 2016, Hannah and I met with a "real" Red Riding Hood. Here's a pic as proof :P

Besides that, we also found a huge Red Riding Hood book. So, of course, we had to take a selfie of it.

After maybe 3 hours, Hannah and I made our purchase of books, summing up to nearly RM150. I was on a tight budget, so not many books could be bought, huhuhu~... T^T Our book haul is as the following picture:

The best haul ever was getting the Barbie bookends along with 4 Barbie storybooks for only RM25.

Of Master's Degree & MyMaster~...

Salam n hye everyone~!!

I'm not really sure if any of you know this, but I'm currently a postgraduate student in a university in KL. 

Yup, I juz started my Master's degree studies in September 2014. And right now, I'm entering the last few weeks of Sem 1. My final exams for this sem is in January~.... ">_<

I decided to further my studies as I wanted to obtain a job of my dreams in the future (that is, being a translator, of course). Since I'm a full-time student again now, I'm only working part time at my old job once a while.

Besides that, I do freelance translation & proofreading jobs as well. (if you wanna know more, juz click here). My craft business has been a bit slow, but orders are still in queue. ^_^ Alhamdulillah~...

For those of you who are applying for or are currently studying for Master's degree or PhD, you must have heard of MyBrain15. MyBrain15 is sort of like a scholarship by the government. Well, it's more like a financial aid to increase the number of postgraduates in Malaysia. MyMaster is for Master students, while MyPhD is for PhD students.

Alhamdulillah, my MyMaster application has juz been approved last Friday. Thus, I'm in the midst of settling the required documents to be submitted.

Being a student again, yes, it does feel great. There are no more work stress. Yet, you gain stress from assignments and studying for exams, haha.. ＼（Ｔ∇Ｔ）／ Plus, Master's degree is different from Bachelor's degree, where you have to be super fast in jotting down the notes in class, and the lecturers will give you titles of books to be read. Yup, that's right, you have to find your own notes by reading books either online or purchasing them.

And in terms of assignments and exams, you're required to give out a lot more than expected. Yes, I mean, A LOT. Huhuhuhu~... Coz as a Master student, you're seen as an adult. (￣□￣;)!!

Thankfully, now I have my own laptop, bought online from Dell. Yeay~~~~~ o(〃＾▽＾〃)o Anyway, at least now I have some time to spend wif Hannah, and also catch up on watching anime~~... :3
